West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress leader, Mamata Banerjee, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of indulging in vote-buying practices during an election rally in Arambagh.

Banerjee claimed that BJP members are offering sums ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹15,000 to sway voters' decisions. She warned against the potential consequences, stating, "If you don't want a reign of terror to usher in, then refrain from voting for the BJP."

Further criticizing the BJP's tactics, Banerjee accused the party of defaming the people of Bengal and highlighted a recent incident in Sandeshkhali where she alleged false rape allegations were made after payments were made. She also directed criticism at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of propagating falsehoods and warning that BJP policies such as the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) could lead to existential crises for minorities, adivasis, and OBCs if Modi's government is re-elected.
